Team USA faces a must-win situation in their second group stage game against hosts, and World Cup favorite Team Canada. Here’s how you can watch online.

The World Cup of Hockey is underway, and Group A has seen its fair share of surprises. The biggest was Team USA’s opening loss to Europe, but it should’ve been expected given all of the questionable decisions they made.

For one, they started Jonathan Quick over Cory Schneider even though the latter put up better numbers last season. They also healthy scratched Dustin Byfuglien in favor of Jack Johnson. And when they got shut out by Team Europe, many lamented the decision to leave Phil Kessel off the team.

With John Tortorella manning the bench, questionable decisions were expected. But Team USA and Team Canada are on much different trajectories to start the World Cup. While USA dropped their opener 3-0, Canada rolled to a 6-0 win over Czech Republic to re-affirm their status as the favorites of the tournament. They were led by their captain Sidney Crosby, who had a three-point performance, while they hardly looked like they missed any of their injured stars.

Whenever Canada and USA get together, it’s always a big occasion. This game isn’t as big now that USA is 0-1, but they know they’re facing a must-win situation. That’s easier said than done though, and if Tortorella wants to beat Canada on their home ice, he needs to make some drastic changes from the first game.

This game will go one of two ways. It’ll either be a closely-contested battle, or Canada will blow USA out of the water. For the sake of the ESPN crew, let’s hope it’s the former.
