Olympian April Ross discusses family, life after Rio and her A.C.E.S. campaign.

April Ross and beach volleyball partner Kerri Walsh Jennings were perhaps the most entertaining duo to watch at the Rio Olympics. While they had their sights set on gold, they ended up walking away with Bronze, which is still an incredible accomplishment.

Ross is a true California girl, having grown up in Newport Beach and attending Newport Harbor High School. Excelling at indoor volleyball, she was the nation’s top recruit by her senior year as well as the Gatorade National Player of the Year.

Ross went on to play collegiately at the University of Southern California where in her freshman season she was the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year as well as the National Freshman of the Year. She finished her career as one of USC’s all-time career record holders before graduating in 2005. The following year she turned to beach volleyball and now has two Olympic medals in the sport.

At 34-years old, April has absolutely no intention of slowing down. Ross and Walsh Jennings returned to competing together just weeks removed from their intense run in the Olympics Volleyball tournament, cementing how amazing their passion is.

I recently had the opportunity to talk with April about her Rio experience as well as what she’s up to now. April also discussed her family, latest business venture with the A.C.E.S campaign and when she plans to slow down and take a much-needed vacation.

And yes, she’s just as energetic as you’d imagine.
