Duke’s Shaun Wilson is keeping his team right in the game with this long kick return for the Blue Devils

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are off to a 1-2 start to the season, so needless to say, things are not all sunshine and rainbows in South Bend at the moment. They’re looking to get things back on the right track Saturday with a win over the Duke Blue Devils of the ACC, but thanks to Shaun Wilson, they’re finding out that it won’t be that easy.

In the first quarter of this one with Notre Dame already up 14-0 at home, they kicked the ball off after their latest score, and Wilson made them pay for kicking the ball to him.

All he did was take the kick back 96 yards to the house to eventually cut the score to 14-7.

Just when it looked as if Notre Dame might be ready to blow the game wide open, this one return from Wilson made sure to let them know that it won’t be easy at all on Saturday for the Irish. Eventually, Duke would add another score to make the score 14-14.

These are the types of plays that Notre Dame needs to avoid if they wanna right the ship this season. In all phases of the game this season we’ve seen some holes on this team, and this is just the latest example. Wilson made them look silly on that return, and that had to make Brian Kelly about as red as we’ve ever seen him.

There’s still a lot of time left in this one here in Week 4, but it’s pretty clear that Notre Dame still has some serious issues that need fixing — and that obviously includes special teams.
