Allen Robinson’s touchdown ruled an incompletion, then overturned (Video)

An Allen Robinson touchdown reception that first appeared to be incomplete for the Jaguars ended up being overturned in the third quarter.

In Sunday’s game featuring the Baltimore Ravens at Jacksonville Jaguars, what first looked like a touchdown for the Jags ended up being overturned moments later. The play came with just over five minutes remaining the third quarter and Jacksonville trailing 16-7. Receiver Allen Thompson made a diving catch after quarterback Blake Bortles aired it out.

While it first seems to be an amazing catch, upon closer review it’s somewhat iffy as to whether or not the play is actually good. It appears happened was the catch was made as Robinson slid through the end zone and then the Ravens’ defender knocked the ball out of his hands. Check out the highlight clip below for a good look at the controversial play.

So was the play good? The Jaguars challenged the initial ruling that it was an incomplete pass. After the officials got together to review the play, they determined that the touchdown catch was in fact, good. That gave Robinson an 11-yard touchdown and put the Jaguars within striking distance, making the score 16-14 in favor of the Ravens.

As of this report, Robinson was the major factor in the Jaguars staying close with Baltimore. Robinson had 50 yards and two touchdowns on six receptions through three quarters of the game. The Ravens were leading in the fourth quarter in Jacksonville 16-14 which certainly had fans talking about if Baltimore would suffer their first loss of the season.
