The New Orleans Saints hosted the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football in Week 3. Here are all the highlights, the final score, and a recap of the game.

The Atlanta Falcons defeated the New Orleans Saints, 45-32 on Monday Night Football in the Big Easy. Atlanta moves to 2-1 on the year, while the Saints fall to 0-3.

With this win, Atlanta is in sole possession of first place in the NFC South entering Week 4. New Orleans is one of just four teams in the NFL to start the year out 0-3. This was a must-win for both teams and Atlanta did a better job in this southern shootout.

In the most recent installment of Falcons versus Saints, it was most definitely a shootout. Both teams combined to score 77 points, shattering the Las Vegas over/under set at 54 points.

Atlanta is the first team in the NFL to have scored more than 100 points this season. The Falcons will take their 104 points back home in Week 4 versus the 1-2 Carolina Panthers.

This difference in this game was two-fold for the Falcons: 1.) Atlanta could run the football convincingly behind tailbacks Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman. 2.) The Falcons won the turnover battle 2-0 and therefore the game.

The Falcons are not a complete team, but they might have the best offense in football. Their defense is suspect at best, but it is definitely better than whatever the Saints offered on Monday night.

Three Stars

1. Devonta Freeman: Freeman ran all over the Saints defense in Week 3. He had 14 carries for 152 yards. As a pass catcher, he had five receptions for 55 yards and one touchdown.

2. Tevin Coleman: Coleman had an outstanding day for the Falcons offense. He had three rushing touchdowns on 12 carries for 42 yards. Coleman also had three catches for 47 yards.

3. Matt Ryan: Ryan outdueled Drew Brees in this southeastern shootout. He completed 20 of 30 passes for 240 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. Ryan even made some plays with his legs, rushing for 23 yards on five carries.
