Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons was taken to a local hospital to have his shin examined.

With the Pittsburgh Steelers already banged up on defense, they lost another key piece on defense. Linebacker Lawrence Timmons took a nice shot to the shin and would have to leave the game. It came at a time when the Eagles were giving the Steelers every thing they could handle.

It appears that Timmons’ injury might be a little more serious than imagined. The Steelers put out an update that he was taken to a local hospital to get his shin checked out. While it could be precautionary, there has to be something serious enough for him to get it checked out immediately.

The Steelers lost other players to injuries on Sunday. Ryan Shazier would leave the game, as would Jarvis Jones. With a depleted defense, the Steelers struggled to contain rookie quarterback Carson Wentz. The first-round pick did a good job of finding his open targets and exploiting the Steelers defense.

The concern here with Timmons’ shin is that is obviously something that is serious. There should be more information after the game, but the Steelers are down deep in their depth. One would have to expect some roster moves to provide more this week.
