Thousands of NFL writers took to Twitter at 1:00 PM ET to tweet ‘I stand with those who kneel’ in support of protesters.

Right before the 1:00 PM ET kickoff of Sunday’s slate of NFL games, thousands of writers took to Twitter to tweet out the phrase “I stand with those who kneel” in support of the growing legion NFL players protesting the playing of the national anthem before games.

Monday Morning Quarterback’s editor-in-chief, Peter King, was one of the many who took to Twitter with this message of unity on Sunday afternoon.

It’s not just the athletes playing on the gridiron that are expressing their discontent with racial tensions in America. Band members at the SMU Mustangs game on Friday night literally took a knee during the playing of the national anthem. Now the people who cover football for a living have made a statement on social injustices on social media.

Seeing Twitter be saturated with such a unified message was certainly a sight to behold. Particularly on a platform not exactly known for fomenting unity.

The peaceful protests are starting to spread like wildfire across multiple mediums on fall Saturdays in the United States of America. Social awareness of these racial injustices being committed in the United States are not going unnoticed any longer.
