One of golf’s all-time greats Arnold Palmer passed away Sunday evening at the age of 87. Here is how Twitter handled the passing of one of the best ever.

Golf lost one of the very best to have ever played the sport on Sunday evening. Arnold Palmer passed away at the age of 87. Palmer was known as one of golf’s Big Three with Jack Niklaus and Gary Player during the 1960s.

Palmer won 95 times as a professional form 1954 to 2006 on the PGA Tour and the Champions Tour. His 65 wins on the PGA Tour are fifth all-time. Palmer finished his golfing career as a seven-time major champion.

Palmer won the Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia four times (1958, 1960, 1962, 1964), the US Open in 1960, and the Open Championship twice in 1961 and 1962. He finished second in the fourth major, the PGA Championship, in 1964, 1968, and 1970.

Palmer was beloved many who didn’t even play golf. Athletes drew inspiration in his greatness. Many people enjoyed the lemonade/tea concoction that was famously named after him.
