Bringing it back to the NBA glory days, James Harden rocked short-shorts today at practice.

It’s James Harden’s world, we’re all just living in it. That world we’re living in also involves every NBA basketball player from here on out wearing old-school short-shorts. Harden was spotted at practice just absolutely rocking a pair of John Stockton-esque shorts:

In all seriousness, Harden looks pretty ridiculous with the short-shorts and shouldn’t quit his day job to become a leg model. But, who knows? Maybe this is a start of some weird trend? We’ve already seen plenty of ridiculous 90s styles making a comeback. Think along the lines of high-waisted jeans and choker necklaces.

Maybe the NBA can mandate some sort of policy where if your fingers go below your shorts, you get fined. I’m just spitballing here. Wait, what? That was actually a league rule at one point? In 1997, the NBA introduced a rule that required shorts to not drop below one inch above the knee. The league cracked down and even fined some players for not abiding by the shorts rule. (And you thought Roger Goodell was bad)

Harden could also just be channelling his inner-point guard given the recent news that he will be playing the position full-time. Rockets head coach Mark D’Antoni recently made the announcement saying that he would let Harden play the position at his own pace.

Let’s just hope that Harden’s shorts don’t receive the type of scrutiny that his signature shoe got. Harden signed a $200 million dollar deal with Adidas and decided to show off the first shoe, much to the dismay of fans. After looking at that shoe, maybe short-shorts are aesthetically pleasing.

Also, the fact we’re writing about the length of James Harden’s practice shorts means that the NBA season needs to start…right…NOW.
