A matter of NFC North pride was taken a bit too far between Vikings and Packers fans.

Every once in a while, we happen to come across news that is flat out head scratching. Although nothing should shock us, especially in the world of sports, news that broke Tuesday involving a Vikings and Packers fan is rather unfortunate.

According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Vikings fan Dave Moschel was stabbed seven times after he approached a young man who had trespassed onto his property. The trespasser, a 21-year-old Packers fan, was seen damaging the inflatable Viking Moschel displays in his yard.

Frustrated by the Vikings hot undefeated start, this crazy man decided to turn his frustration on a blowup doll. Unfortunately for everyone, he took it a step further with a disgusting act. After heading to Stoughton Hospital in Wisconsin where Moschel resides, the victim was stitched up after suffering several cuts from the incident. It was a box-cutter that did the damage.

Mr. Moschel described why the Packers fan was so lucky to be alive instead of himself: “Luckily, I didn’t have my concealed carry on me at the time. Ninety-nine percent of the time I leave the house, I never leave without it. And this is the one time I did.”

Moschel also would go on to make a statement that he plans on repairing his inflatable Viking and having it out there for next Sunday. Kudos to you, Dave. For all that Moschel has endured, the Minnesota Vikings are also rewarding Dave for his innocent suffering. He has been welcomed to attend a practice and upcoming game between the Vikings and Cardinals in November.

Here is to your recovery Dave, and thanks for being a great fan. People, let us remember that at the end of the day it is just a game.
