Here’s what the Denver Broncos and San Diego Chargers will be wearing for their Thursday Night Football tilt to kick off Week 6.

It’s almost time for Thursday Night Football, which means both the start of a new week of NFL action and some colorful uniforms for the two participants.

After debuting the promotion on a limited basis a year ago, the NFL unveiled “Color Rush” uniforms to be worn on Thursday Night Football for every team prior to the season. As their respective uniforms are substantially different from each other, both the Denver Broncos and San Diego Chargers will be wearing Color Rush jerseys for their Week 6 matchup at Qualcomm Stadium.

While most of the uniforms were met with negative reviews, both teams will be looking sharp on Thursday night. Week 6 is the best Thursday night uniform matchup we’ve seen so far, and it will be tough to top until the Seattle Seahawks host the Los Angeles Rams on October 15.

The Chargers will be wearing these uniforms in front of the home crowd.

The blue and yellow combination looks nice, and the lightning bolts on the pants are pretty sweet. While the powder blues are always preferable, these rank among the top Chargers uniforms in recent memory.

Meanwhile, the Broncos will take the field in these.

That orange is much better than some of the other Color Rush uniforms we’ve seen, such as the Miami Dolphins. Denver also gets major bonus points for featuring the throwback D on the helmet.

The 1-4 Chargers will need more than nice uniforms to take down the 4-1 Broncos, which could mean the end of the Mike McCoy era in San Diego. Denver expects to have starting quarterback Trevor Siemian back after he suffered a shoulder injury in Week 4.
