Draymond Green is a pure lightning rod on Thursday. He decided to rip Paul Pierce and all the Kevin Durant haters in a verbose Tweet. The NBA is back, baby!

The 2016-17 NBA season is only days away, but already Golden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green is ready to be the association’s favorite antagonist. On Thursday, longtime NBA All-Star Paul Pierce decided to that he wants to retire as a member of the Boston Celtics.

Green didn’t care about Pierce’s final NBA aspirations and torches him in a series of Tweets that went on forever. He also decided to rip apart all the Kevin Durant haters in the world because he is a corporation that needs to be protected.

Anthony Slater of the San José Mercury-News graciously shared this Tweet with the world.

Green may not respect Pierce, but he is one of the greatest Celtics of all time. Pierce is a no-doubt, first ballot Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer. Green is best known for his love of the groin shot in the 2016 NBA Playoffs. Just ask Donatas Motiejunas, Steven Adams, and LeBron James. He pretty much cost the 2015-16 Warriors their shot at being the greatest NBA team ever assembled.

Going after the Durant haters is more understandable. Durant is Green’s teammate, but choosing to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder for the Warriors had terrible optics written all over it for Durant. This is what he signed up for: to be hated by every basketball fan outside of the Bay Area.

Comparing Green to Apple or Google is ridiculous. Those are winning brands. What has Durant ever won? An Olympic gold medal, come on. Green was the biggest advocate for getting Durant to the Warriors in 2016 NBA free agency.

The Warriors are the overwhelming favorites to win the 2017 NBA Finals, but they are going to have to do it as the villain of the NBA. Green seems comfortable in this role, but what about Durant, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson? Is this really what they want?
