What songs can be heard on Damian Lillard’s new rap album?

Damian Lillard has become one of the NBA’s best point guards since being drafted in 2012. He has averaged 21.4 points and 6.8 assists per game through four seasons, including two All-Star Game appearances from 2013-15. He’ll return for the 2016-17 season to form one of the league’s top backcourts with CJ McCollum.

While Lillard is a star on the basketball court, he’s looking to expand his skill set off the hardwood. The Weber State alumnus released a rap album titled The Letter O early Friday morning, which has had the basketball world buzzing. He’s also going under the name “Dame D.O.L.L.A”. This acronym means “Different On Levels the Lord Allows”.

This is Lillard’s first album after releasing singles in 2014 and 2015. These are titled “No Asterisks” and “Bigger Than Us”, respectively. With 12 new songs, there is plenty of content to listen to from this aspiring artist. All the tracks from The Letter O can be seen below.

  1. Bill Walton
  2. Wasatch Front
  3. Growth Spurt (feat. Dupre)
  4. Misguided
  5. Thank You (feat. Marsha Ambrosius, Brookfield Duece & Danny from Sobrante)
  6. Plans (feat. Jamie Foxx)
  7. Legacy (feat. Juvenile & Danny from Sobrante)
  8. Loyal to the Soil (feat. Lil Wayne)
  9. Roll Call (feat. Brookfield Duece)
  10. Pillow Talk (feat. Manny Lotus)
  11. Baggage (feat. Adrian Marcel)
  12. Hero (Bonus Track) [feat. Raphael Saadiq]

Lillard collaborated with some impressive names here, including Lil Wayne and Jamie Foxx. It’s a great way of legitimizing this first-ever album for the Portland Trail Blazers star, who will get mainstream publicity due to his playing ability as well.

The Letter O adds to the resume of Damian Lillard’s young career. If all goes well with this, maybe we’ll get a second album down the line. For now, though, he’ll look to take the Blazers back to the playoffs next spring.
