These five college football coaches on the hot seat need a win in Week 8.

Week 8 of the college football season has arrived and it’s do or die time for many teams. As the latter stages of the season commence, coaches are fighting for their jobs now more than ever. One win or one loss could swing the season one way or the other.

Darrell Hazell was the latest to get the axe in college and the season of firings has taken another. Now that Week 8 has rolled around, there stands a strong chance that another will join Hazell and Les Miles. Here are five coaches on the hot seat that need a win in Week 8.

5. Tim DeRuyter

The clock is ticking very fast for Fresno State head coach Tim DeRuyter. His team has been terrible the past two seasons and there’s a very real chance his team is going to be a lot worse than the one that went 3-9 last season.

To have a team regress from 3-9 is quite the task and it’s got DeRuyter squarely on the hot seat. The Bulldogs need to win out for a chance at a bowl game, but that’s just not likely now. This is an obvious firing waiting to happen.
