University of Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson has set the school touchdown record, having a huge day against NC State.

Have yourself a day, Lamar Jackson. The University of Louisville quarterback has annihilated his opponents this year. The Heisman hopeful picked up another career accomplishment on Saturday in a lopsided game against North Carolina State.

In the first half of Saturday’s game, Jackson connected on a short three-yard touchdown pass to Cole Hikutini. It was Jackson’s 33rd scoring pass of the year, tying the school record. Barely a couple of minutes later, and he struck again. This time, finding Jamari Staples for a 16-yard play. With that play, he would own the single-season total touchdown record with 34.

Nevermind the fact that he also picked up a 36-yard dash on his own to open up the scoring, less than two minutes into the game. He also found Jaylen Smith on a 74-yard touchdown bomb as well. His day just furthers his case for the Heisman Trophy, among some tough competition.

The explosive day from Jackson helped Louisville jump out to a 44-0 lead by halftime. At the half, he was responsible for 14/22, 284 yards and three touchdowns just through the air. He had 10 carries for 53 yards and a touchdown to add to his dual-threat offensive attack.

Louisville went into Saturday’s game ranked No. 7 in the country, second only to Clemson in the ACC. Unless a monumental meltdown goes down, they’ll improve to 6-1 on the season. Jackson has been an integral part of the success of the team and is expected to topple more records as the year progresses.
