Leonard Fournette reminds us he’s ridiculous with 59-yard touchdown (Video)
Leonard Fournette made his triumphant return to the LSU Tigers on Saturday against Ole Miss and wasted little time announcing his presence
The LSU Tigers, in theory, haven’t missed their star running back in Leonard Fournette while he’s been out due to injury. In the absence of one of the preseason Heisman Trophy favorites, Derrius Guice showed LSU and the world what he’s capable of. When Fournette made his return to the lineup on Saturday against the Ole Miss Rebels, though, the star wasn’t about to let anyone ever forget again why he’s so special.
To be fair, LSU’s first two drives stalled and resulted in punts. Through those two drives and the start of their third, Fournette had just one carry for a one-yard loss. He made up that yard and a lot more on his second carry in his return.
Taking a toss through a gaping hole on the right side of the line, Fournette showed the burst that has made him so special. When it was time to turn on the burners, no one for the Rebels ever stood a chance. Fournette burned the back line of Ole Miss on his way to the end zone, completing the 59-yard touchdown.
I don’t know for sure, but I think it’s safe to say that Fournette looks pretty healthy now.
