LSU Tigers star running back Leonard Fournette is back for the Bayou Bengals! He’s healthy and he’s trucking Ole Miss Rebels defenders in the Magnolia Bowl!

The LSU Tigers briefly lost their way in 2016. They suffered early losses to the Wisconsin Badgers and the Auburn Tigers that don’t look bad anymore. LSU also parted ways with longtime head coach Les Miles after the Auburn loss.

However, the biggest thing that was holding the Tigers back was that their best player running back Leonard Fournette was out with an injury. Fournette returned in the 2016 Magnolia Bowl versus the rival Ole Miss Rebels. Now he’s bulldozing over Landshark defenders like the power back he is.

When freshman cornerback Deontay Anderson committed to the Rebels, did he expect this kind of hit from Fournette. Anderson wanted absolutely no part of Fournette coming full speed on this screen pass from quarterback Danny Etling.

When Fournette lowered his shoulder, he sent a message to the Rebels that he is back and ready to do some damage in this SEC West rivalry game. LSU is playing great ball under interim head coach Ed Orgeron. Getting Fournette back is a huge boost for the Tigers in the final weeks of their SEC season.

Should LSU be able to knock off the Rebels at home, the Tigers will enter their Week 9 bye feeling really good about themselves. Coming up on November 5th is none other than Nick Saban’s undefeated Alabama Crimson Tide. LSU is fortunate to get Alabama at home in two weeks. With Fournette, an upset of the Crimson Tide is definitely on the table for LSU.
