Alabama’s Mack Wilson baptized Texas A&M returner Speedy Noil in the hard-hitting, decleating waters of Tuscaloosa with a monster hit

The Alabama Crimson tide are always bringing int he best recruits in the country. It’s why they’re the No. 1 team in the country on a perpetual basis and why they keep having players selected in the first round of the NFL draft. And one of their latest prize recruits is Mack Wilson, who is currently largely playing on special teams for the Tide. On Saturday against the Texas A&M Aggies, return man Speedy Noil found out just how good Wilson can be.

Noil was looking for room and a hole to burst through on a kick return for the Aggies. Before he could even survey the entire field, though, Wilson had busted through the return team and was in Noil’s mouth with a ridiculous amount of ferocity.

And I mean in his mouth in the most literal sense of the word when it comes to the viciousness of the hit that Wilson put on Noil:

If you’re thinking that’s helmet-to-helmet contact, you’d be right. Wilson pretty clearly gets the crown of his helmet right into the facemask of Noil. However, the play wasn’t ruled or even reviewed for targeting. According to the CBS broadcast, the reason was the Noil wasn’t ruled defenseless on the play. Also, it is a judgment call by the officials and replay officials, after all.

Noil was taken to the sidelines and evaluated for a concussion—and rightfully so. He absolutely got knocked into last week on that hit from Wilson. Next time he sees the Alabama freshman, he’s at least going to think about just sliding to avoid eating that type of hit again.
