Anthony Rizzo joined the Chicago Cubs’ home run party in Game 6 at Wrigley Field, and the Cubs took a 5-0 lead in the fifth inning.

The Chicago Cubs continue to beat up on the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series. The World Series favorites now lead 5-0. Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo showed off his incredible power by hitting the Cubs’ second home run of the game.

The Cubs first baseman will undoubtedly be a serious candidate to win the National League MVP award. He hit 32 home runs with 109 runs batted in, which ranked second in the NL. Rizzo now has five RBIs in the postseason, and he continues to be one of the most powerful hitters in baseball.

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw continues to have a miserable night with five runs allowed in five innings. Kershaw pitched extremely well in Game 2 with seven shutout innings at Wrigley Field. However, Kershaw’s playoff struggles have continued in Game 6. The Cubs offense that enabled the team to win 103 games in the regular season has come out in full force again.

Kershaw is undoubtedly the best pitcher in baseball during the regular season. However, his playoff track record will continue to be the source of discussion among baseball fans. Meanwhile, Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks has carried his regular-season success into the playoffs. He has pitched six shutout innings for the Cubs so far. As of the fifth inning, Hendricks has allowed just three runs in 15 innings this postseason.

It remains to be seen how the Cubs’ stacked lineup will fare in a World Series against the Cleveland Indians. The Indians shut down powerful offenses in the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays with their dangerous pitching staff. However, the Cubs have a dangerous pitching staff of their own to go with a fearsome lineup.
