It’s hard to believe that it’s already Week 9 of the college football season. Bowl season is just a little over a month away and teams are making their final pushes for a playoff spot. Coaches are also starting to be let go and more coaches are going to be put on the hot seat as the weeks go on.

With Week 9 a pivotal week that could make or break plenty of team’s bowl chances, the hot seat will be turned up another notch this week. There are plenty of coaches that need a win this week if they want to live to see another day. These five coaches need a win in Week 9.

5. Kliff Kingsbury

The Texas Tech Red Raiders coach is in no imminent danger of losing his job, but he can’t afford to have his team to keep giving up a ton of points and yards every single game. Sooner or later, some semblance of a defense is going to have to show up Kliff Kingsbury’s team.

This week, the Red Raiders will have a big test against TCU. There’s going to be plenty of points scored and a lot of yards giving up. Seeing the Red Raiders clamp down and pick up a big win on the road could go a long way for him.
