Evander Kane will have harassment and trespassing charges dropped

Evander Kane will have his misdemeanor trespassing and harassment charges from this summer dropped. 

Even before Buffalo Sabres forward Evander Kane suffered cracked ribs earlier this season, he was in a bit of trouble. This was due to an offseason incident which left him with charges of misdemeanor trespassing and noncriminal harassment and disorderly conduct violations. According to the Buffalo News, Kane will have the charges dropped as a part of a new plea deal.

"The harassment and trespassing cases against Evander Kane will be dismissed in April if Kane stays out of trouble for the next six months, it was agreed Monday morning.Kane had faced one misdemeanor trespass charge and separate noncriminal violations of disorderly conduct and harassment after two female patrons and a bouncer at the Bottoms Up club reported Kane had grabbed the women and pulled their hair, and then refused the bouncer’s orders to leave."

This is not the first time Kane has been in legal trouble. He faced scrutiny following a December bar incident, but was later cleared of any wrong doing. While the Sabres forward is extremely talented, his off the ice issues paint a negative picture of his character.

Kane, originally drafted by the Winnipeg Jets, was traded to Buffalo in 2015. He was recovering from an injury at the time. In 427 career games, Kane has 129 goals and 128 assists for 257 points. Last season, he had his first 20-goal season since setting a career high with 30 goals back in 2011-12. Kane has played just 66 games since joining the Sabres due to a variety of injuries.

He is currently recovering from cracked ribs, which he suffered against the Montreal Canadiens on Oct. 13. Despite not having Kane or star center Jack Eichel, the Sabres have a .500 point percentage entering the month of November.
