Adidas has something mean-looking up their sleeves for Louisville and Mississippi State on Nov. 12.

Adidas isn’t known for stitching together the best uniforms. It’s had very recent flops with the jerseys of the Miami Hurricanes and Arizona State Sun Devils. But Adidas has made up for lost time as it drew up some very special edition uniforms for Louisville and Mississippi State.

On Nov. 12, both Louisville and Mississippi State will sport these jerseys in honor of service members. If you wonder why it’s an all-black edition, it’s because they’re tailored towards prisoners of war and those missing in action. In fact, the POW/MIA flag features an all-black fill with white text. The jerseys also feature a clear pattern of stars slung over the right shoulder, in addition to the ripples of the banner over the left. Following the same theme, the jet black gloves will feature an optical illusion with the respective university’s name on the palms.

Louisville will play a surprisingly good Wake Forest squad in t-minus 11 days. The last three contests between the two have been decided by less than 11 points. Since this game is at Louisville, Wake Forest might not fare very well in the atmosphere. Also, Louisville has the best passer and rusher in all of FBS land, Lamar Jackson. But it’s nice Wake Forest plans to show up, regardless.

Mississippi State, on the other hand, travels to Alabama on Nov. 12. Predictably, Alabama is slated to steal this game without needing to display any real effort. In the past five meetings, Alabama’s crew has won by two or more possessions. With an imminent loss on the horizon, Mississippi State will at least play that game in style.

Adidas’s creative department really stepped up its game. By introducing these alternate uniforms, the players have yet another purpose to play for: the veterans. The detail from the chrome of the helmet to the last stitch of the pants qualifies these kits as the best of the 2016 season. Way to pay tribute, Adidas.
