Cleveland Indians designated hitter Carlos Santana tied the game in third inning with a single into right field.

Game 7 of the World Series between the Cleveland Indians and Chicago Cubs has been filled with nothing but tension. After Dexter Fowler led the game off with a huge home run, the Cleveland Indians finally got on the board in the third inning. After Coco Crisp led the inning off with a double, Roberto Perez would bunt him over to third. That’s when Carlos Santana came to the plate.

Kyle Hendricks would dig in on the mound, but Santana would get the better of him. The designated hitter would send one into right field and the game would be tied up. After giving up a run early, it was a huge sigh of relief for the Cleveland faithful.

Hendricks would then have to pitch out of a jam, as the Cubs’ bullpen began to get to work. He had two on with one out, but he managed to get the next two batters to hit balls for outs. Still, it was a huge inning for the Indians and the momentum shifted back their way.

For being a Game 7, the first few innings of the World Series more than delivered. Timely hits and pitchers trying to get out of jams defined the game early on.
