ESPN’s Chris Berman got very emotional reflecting over the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series and the fans that have passed on.

The Chicago Cubs made history on Wednesday night, when they defeated the Cleveland Indians to win the 2016 World Series. It was the first time that the Cubs won the World Series in 108 years and it was a monumental moment for Cubs fans everywhere. ESPN’s Chris Berman was on the scene in Cleveland and he got very emotional reflecting over what the win means.

Berman mentioned the people that would go into a bar to toast not only the win, but their ancestors that rooted for the Cubs that have since passed on. With the drought having been 108 years, many Cubs fans have passed on without winning a championship.

The words of Berman ring true and there will be many tributes paid not only to the Cubs, but also to their fans that weren’t there to see the moment. There isn’t a more emotional World Series than this one and it will be remembered until the end of time.

Cubs fans everywhere will be raising a glass to the first World Series they have seen in their lifetime. They will also be raising one to those in their life that made them Cubs fans.
