Chicago native Mike Wilbon reflected on growing up as a Chicago Cubs fan after Game 7 of the World Series.

Not only will the Chicago Cubs be remembered forever for their epic win in Game 7 of the 2016 World Series, but there will be stories told for a lifetime. These stories will not only be just about the Cubs, but those who have followed them for a long time. With the team not having won in 108 years, there are plenty of fans that have passed on without seeing the team finally win. There are plenty that are still alive that have been through heartbreak with the team.

ESPN’s Mike WIlbon was in Cleveland after the game, but the Chicago native was given time to reflect on his life as a Cubs fan. He remembers becoming a fan as a young man in high school and how he would get to and from games.

It was a touching reflection and a reminder of the journey that he as a fan has had too. Everyone will remember what the team did on the field, but they will also remember all their own personal moments with the team as well.

Wilbon has seen a lot in his years as a Cubs fan. He can now finally say he has seen his team win a World Series. So can the rest of Chicago now.
