Here’s how you can watch Thursday evening’s Oklahoma vs Iowa State game from Ames online.

Oklahoma began the season just 1-2, and now the Sooners are 6-2. It’s been quite the turnaround, and a big reason for that success is the fact that Baker Mayfield is back playing the way he did a season ago when he finished in the top five in Heisman voting.

Mayfield is playing extraordinarily well, passing for 2,584 yards and 27 touchdowns with just five interceptions and a 71 percent completion rate. He has been incredible to this point in the season, and if he leads the Sooners to an unbeaten record through the rest of the year, he might be competing in the playoff again.

Dede Westbrook has replaced Sterling Shepard as Mayfield’s favorite target this season, catching 57 passes for 1,035 yards and 11 touchdowns. Moreover, the run game has been impressive with Joe Mixon, who is out Saturday, and Samaje Perine.

Iowa State, on the other hand, has been one of the most mediocre teams in the entire country, and sitting at 1-7 through eight games, the Cyclones need a win to stop the bleeding. Taking on Oklahoma at home might not be the best chance to do just that, though.

Junior Joel Lanning and sophomore Jacob Park have been switching back and forth at quarterback, and it’s not clear who the best option is. The uncertainty at the most important position on the field might be the reason this team has struggled.

That, and the fact that the run game, other than Mike Warren, has been mediocre at best. The Cyclones don’t have many weapons in the backfield, and even Warren’s 4.3 yards per carry isn’t that impressive.
