Here’s a complete preview and prediction for the game between the Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

The Carolina Panthers got back to their winning ways last week, but it still came at a price. Quarterback Cam Newton was once again the recipient of some illegal hits and the quarterback had another long day on the field. On Sunday, the Panthers will look to get another win on the road against the scuffling Los Angeles Rams.

Start Time: 4:05 p.m. ET

Keys to Victory

The Carolina Panthers have to be able to protect Newton better. They are going up against a defensive line full of monsters this week and they have to keep Newton standing. They need to give him ample time to make decisions.

The Panthers have been struggling with giving up yards via the pass. They aren’t exactly facing a phenom in Case Keenum this week, but they have to lock down on their targets. Stopping the pass and going all in on the run would be ideal.

The Rams are going to have establish a ground game. Carolina is at their best when they shut a team down on the ground and force a team to pass. Todd Gurley will have to grind out some tough yards on the ground.

Prediction

The Panthers still have plenty of flaws, but they’re good enough to defeat the Rams. Los Angeles is heading in the wrong direction and without much of an offense they’re going to struggle against Carolina. As long as Newton survives, the Panthers will be alright.

Pick: Carolina 24, Los Angeles 14
