During player introductions for the New York Knicks, the Chicago Bulls fans greeted one former player with loud cheers but booed the other.

The Chicago Bulls had one of the busiest offseasons of any NBA team. As such, they’re going to play a lot of games against a former player, or with one of their players against a former team.

With the New York Knicks in town and sporting a brand new rotation featuring Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah, tonight was one of those nights.

It was hard to gauge what the crowd reaction was going to be. Were the fans going to boo both Rose and Noah, cheer both of them but then boo them when they touch the ball, or boo one and cheer the other? The answer was option C, although it was Noah that they ended up cheering over Rose:

Although really, the biggest shock is that they booed Kristaps Porzingis. Seriously, how can anybody not like that guy?

Bulls fans were certainly frustrated with Rose’s time in Chicago. Despite being the youngest player ever to win MVP, injuries kept stalling his career. While it was sad to see the first time around, by the third time, it just got ridiculous.

Last season was also his healthiest campaign in a long time, but it wasn’t fun to watch him. It was really just a sad reminder of what could’ve been. Bulls fans booed D-Rose every time he touched the ball.

Joakim Noah, on the other hand, has served Bulls fans well for nearly a decade. He may not have put up the best numbers, while last year’s campaign was riddled with injuries, but he was pretty well-liked in the community during his time.

Ironically enough, it was the Derrick Rose trade that led to the Bulls getting Dwyane Wade, who has been pretty lights out for them. The Bulls’ offense has defied a lot of expectations. A lot of people didn’t think they would mesh well together, especially since they have no shooters, but their 3-1 start has proven a lot of people wrong.

Even though the Knicks are a better team on paper than they were last year, a 1-3 start means it’s still the same old song and dance. Maybe they get better as the season goes along, but it’s hard to get excited about Rose and Noah after the seasons they had last year.
