The Oakland Raiders took sole possession of first place in the AFC West on Sunday night, as they defeated the rival Denver Broncos, 30-20.

For a team known for their passing attack, the Oakland Raiders took to the ground game on Sunday night, and it was a dominating effort.

Latavius Murray became the first Raiders running back since 2010 to score three touchdowns in a game, as the Oakland offensive line pushed Denver around all game. When the clock finally ran out on Sunday night, Oakland took sole possession of first place in the AFC West.

It was an incredible game for Murray, who rushed for over 100 yards in the contest. He consistently ran behind the Raiders’ left side of the line, and made some incredible individual efforts at the goal line to find pay dirt. DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard did a nice job supplementing Murray in the run game, as the Raiders moved to 7-2 on the season.

Denver struggled to get much going for much of the game, as quarterback Trevor Siemian struggled to move the ball. Rookie running back Devontae Booker was pretty much absent in the running game for Denver, who also shot themselves in the foot with some big penalties to kill drives. Siemian was able to hook up with Jordan Norwood for a nice touchdown in the first half, but that was the extent of their big plays on this night.

The absence of Aqib Talib was a big one for Denver, who was depleted in the secondary. Raiders quarterback Derek Carr did not have a good game statistically, but he was able to take care of the ball against a very aggressive Denver defense. The two teams will meet again on New Years Day, in the season finale for both.

Three Stars

1) Latavius Murray

The Denver Broncos were short-handed in their secondary, and most believed the Raiders would take advantage of that through the air. However, Oakland kept the ball on the ground, as their offensive line dominated throughout. Latavius Murray ran hard all night behind that offensive line, finding pay dirt three times in the game.

In total, Murray rushed for 114 yards on 20 carries, while adding 13 yards receiving. The 26-year-old back has had a rough 2016 season, after being named to his first Pro Bowl last season. Prior to Sunday night, his high in yards this season was 59, which he ran for twice. The Raiders have three very good running backs on their roster, and Murray showed on Sunday night why he is considered the workhorse of the three.

2) Oakland Raiders offensive line

The Raiders spent a ton of money in the offseason on their offensive line, signing Kelechi Osemele from the Baltimore Ravens, and re-signing Donald Penn. The moves gave the Raiders the best offensive line in the AFC on paper, but it was up to them to prove it on the field. On Sunday night, in the Raiders first primetime game in a long time, the front line of Oakland showed it can dominate any defensive line.

More on FanSided:

Oakland has one of the better passing games in all of football, as Carr has established himself as one of the best young quarterbacks in football. The offensive line has shown this year that they can keep Carr off his back, but the running game has not been as consistent. Sunday night was the best this unit has looked this season, and with the bye week next week, they are only going to get better going forward.

3) Kapri Bibbs

There was not much to speak about on the offensive side of the ball for Denver on Sunday night, and the defense was absolutely blown away by the Raiders. However, there was one bright spot for the Broncos, as Kapri Bibbs scored his first NFL touchdown. Not only did he find the end zone for the first time, but how he did it was the most impressive play of the entire game.

Bibbs caught a screen pass from Trevor Siemian and rumbled 69 yards for the touchdown. He broke a few tackles, and made a couple people miss on his way to the score. The former practice squad member may have earned himself some more playing time, as rookie Devontae Booker had a terrible game as the starter.
