A look at how the College Football Playoff Rankings shaped out as we head into Week 11 of the season

Last week we were treated to the first College Football Playoff Rankings of the 2016 season, and to say there were a few surprises would be an understatement to say the least.

Of course, a lot of the focus during the initial rankings last week was the fact that the one-loss Texas A&M Aggies were technically in the playoff field as the No. 4 seed over the undefeated Washington Huskies. However, for as angry as some were, we were reminded that everything would shake out correctly and that didn’t take long. This past weekend, the Aggies lost a game not many expected them to to the Mississippi State Bulldogs, effectively eliminating their playoff chances altogether.

Speaking of what happened this weekend, the question turns to who the new No. 4 seed will be. Washington did remain undefeated with a convincing win over the Cal Golden Bears, however, Urban Meyer and the one-loss Ohio State Buckeyes made a pretty big statement of their own on Saturday night by drubbing the Nebraska Cornhuskers 62-3. While it may seem out of the realm of possibility to some, there is a chance that when the committee looks at the entire body of work so far throughout the season, Ohio State may get that No. 4 nod.

The second College Football Playoff rankings of the 2016 season will be released Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN. Be sure to check back here at that time where you can see who the top four teams are heading into Week 11 below.

Of course, the No. 1 team in the country will be the Alabama Crimson Tide after they had yet another successful weekend to remain undefeated. Nick Saban and his team went into Death Valley on a Saturday night and came away with a 10-0 win. With that, there should be no reason to move the Tide from that top spot.

Then, after the Week 10 performances that they had respectively, the Clemson Tigers and Michigan Wolverines should hold on to the No. 2 and No. 3 spots. Last week Clemson was ahead of Jim Harbaugh and Michigan, so we’ll have to see if that still holds true here entering Week 11.

Really, all everyone is worried about on Tuesday night is: Who will be No. 4? Be sure to check back at 7 p.m. ET to find out.
