ESPN’s Tim MacMahon took a little dig at Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban on Tuesday night in the wake of recent controversy involving credentials.

One of the strangest stories of the 2016-17 NBA season early on has been surrounding the Dallas Mavericks. No, it has nothing to do with the fact that the team was 1-5 entering their Tuesday night matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers. Instead, it involves Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and his revoking of credentials for two ESPN reporters who had long covered games in Dallas: Tim MacMahon and Marc Stein.

As the story goes, Cuban elected to revoke both ESPN employees credentials on Sunday. This came as a shock considering their long-standing relationship with Cuban and the team. As to why it happened, multiple reports indicated that Cuban was unhappy with MacMahon’s new role at ESPN. Rather than exclusively covering the Mavericks, he was expanding to the entire NBA. And with Dallas’ early-season struggles, that meant less coverage for the Mavs.

Needless to say, all of this got ugly and in a hurry. It was the journalistic equivalent of a long time pal simply telling you that you were no longer welcome at their house.

As the Mavericks and Mark Cuban traveled to Los Angeles on Tuesday night, though, MacMahon was also in the building. The two came face to face and, though we don’t know what was said, the ESPN employee unleashed a hilarious troll of Cubn on Twitter:

Look at that face from Cuban! He knows he’s about to get roasted by MacMahon and doesn’t have a choice in the matter. And the caption of “It’s always good to see old friends.”

It’s worth noting that Stein and MacMahon released a joint statement through ESPN on Tuesday, as well. They simply stated that the situation was still difficult to understand. Moreover, they also said that they were working toward a resolution with Dallas and would continue covering the NBA in the same “aggressive” manner that they always have.

At this point, we have no idea when or if this gets resolved between ESPN and Cuban. However, if MacMahon is going to keep running into the Dallas owner and trolling him like this, let’s keep them at odds for at least a little while longer.
