On Election Day, the overwhelming thought in the forefront of every person’s mind in Washington D.C. is most likely “What is wrong with the Wizards??” Early returns on the season have been poor, and the forecasted future results are anything but rosy. The bench, which was the focus of GM Ernie Grunfeld’s off-season spending, is sputtering. Grunfeld’s approval rating continues to plummet. Reasonable, concerned citizens are wondering, “Can our leaders John Wall and Bradley Beal even peacefully coexist?”

To help analyze exactly what is going on with the underperforming Wizards, Fastbreak Breakfast consults with the Washington Post’s Candace Buckner (@CandaceDBuckner). She gives her opinions and observations on what has gone wrong so far and how likely a turnaround may be. Is there tension in the locker room? Do the players trust each other? How can Grunfeld and team owner Ted Leonsis reverse their sagging approval ratings? Can she shed any light on the very good and secret plan for turning around the Wizards? And where is her favorite spot for a serene and peaceful breakfast in the nation’s capital?
