The Oklahoma Sooners continue to pile it on against the Baylor Bears. Here is running back Joe Mixon taking it 51 yards to the house vs. Baylor.

The Oklahoma Sooners are destroying the Baylor Bears on Saturday afternoon in Norman. Oklahoma isn’t going to the College Football Playoff, but nobody wants to play the Sooners in late November. This team is cooking with napalm in Big 12 play.

The Sooners got into the end zone a ton through the air with Baker Mayfield at quarterback and Dede Westbrook at wide receiver. Now here they are seeing what running back Joe Mixon can do. He punishes the Bears defense on this 51-yard touchdown run to make it a blowout in Oklahoma’s favor.

Oklahoma is very likely going to finish Big 12 play at a perfect 9-0. The Sooners will presumably finish 10-2 (9-0) on the year and get a New Year’s Six bowl as the Big 12 Champion.

Oklahoma took a few big gambles in scheduling the Houston Cougars and the Ohio State Buckeyes in the non-conference, getting burned both times. While two early losses would have ruined less committed teams, Oklahoma has rallied in conference play to start playing like the team we all thought the Sooners were going to be at the start of the season.

Baylor has nose-dived since falling to the Texas Longhorns in Austin two weeks ago. The Bears have now lost three straight games in Big 12 play. They aren’t fooling anybody any more. This is not an elite football team Jim Grobe gets to babysit in 2016.

Oklahoma is the most complete team in an otherwise underwhelming Big 12 conference. The Sooners can hang with anybody, but the two early losses have ruined this team’s National Championship hopes before the calendar flipped to October. Nevertheless, Bob Stoops has another great football team on his hands this season.
