This Kansas kick returner — or the special teams coaching staff– is one of the smartest people on the planet after this stunt

When you’re the Kansas Jayhawks, who are not a very good football program by any means, you have to get a little creative on the field if you wanna be successful. This even goes for when you’re playing another bad team like the Iowa State Cyclones, and kick returner LaQuvionte Gonzalez pulled off one of the smartest stunts that you will ever see on Saturday.

Iowa State was kicking off to the Jayhawks on Saturday, and the kick was initially fielded by Steven Sims Jr. He looked like he was gonna bring it out, but then he pitched it back to Gonzalez, who had some people wondering where he had come from.

Well, here’s where he came from. He came from the end zone, where no one could really see him because he camouflaged himself in the blue end zone as the Kansas team was decked out in all blue on Saturday.

Now if we wanna be nitpicky here, would it have been ever better if he returned the kick to the house for the score? Sure it would and I’m sure that some will bring up that little factoid.

But still, you can’t knock the creativity here to at least give it a shot. And really, for the most part on this play, it worked. There were a lot of people out there who had no idea where Gonzalez was coming from.

Again, when you’re Kansas and you’re not all that successful on the gridiron, then you have to go to every tool that you have in the chest to see if you can right the ship, if only for one week at least. This was a pretty good tool to go to here.
