These are some of the best bets against the spread for Week 12 of the college football season

When favorites win, we lose and, to be frank, the results have not been fantastic over the past two weeks. The Week 11 slate was slightly kinder to us (as you can see below), but only a late-night surge kept it from being a second consecutive disaster. Alas, we march on with a positive record for the season and the breaks have to start coming back… right? Right. Here is where we stand for the year:

  • Last Week: 4-6
  • Season: 57-51-1

College football is winding down, and while that makes us very sad, this week’s slate has some weak spots. Let’s take advantage together.

Houston (+14) over Louisville

I’ve known for a long, long time that I would have the Cougars in this spot. Contrary to popular belief, Houston isn’t a disaster and they remain a talented football team. Louisville is better, but this point spread is at least four points too high based largely on public perception. Tom Herman’s crew will be up for this game, and I absolutely love the home underdog on Thursday night.

Purdue (+28) over Wisconsin

I’m going against the Badgers with a big number for the second straight week, and while things did not go our way with Illinois, this is actually a more favorable spot. Wisconsin was in the friendly confines of Madison when they trashed the Illini, but this game is against a better opponent (at least in my view) and it takes place in West Lafayette. It won’t be pretty but the home underdog is the right side.

Next: Florida/LSU and Tennessee/Mizzou
