ESPN’s Sara Walsh talks about her career in sports journalism, her competitive fantasy football league and her dream of owning a pony.

You’ve seen her on SportsCenter, Fantasy Football Now and SportsCenter On The Road, she’s ESPN’s very own, Sara Walsh

I recently talked with Sara on how she got her start in the business, what it’s like to be an anchor on the most well-known sports show in the country, her TV show guilty pleasures, if she’ll EVER get that pet pony and much more.

The interview is broken up into a three-part video series

In the first video Sara shares what motivated her to pursue journalism and how she was able to work her way up the career ladder in a competitive, male dominated field. Everyone has their own path and for her it was a more traditional route. After ESPN hired Walsh, there were a few people who went out of their way to mentor her, their kindness never being taken for granted or forgotten.

In this second part, Sara explains what it’s like to be in a fantasy football league with all of ESPN’s top football experts. In addition to Fantasy Football Now, Sara also travels with SportsCenter On The Road most weekends, allowing her to see sports cities around the country. Sara shares her favorite college towns from her travels.

In the final part, Sara offers advice to women wanting to break into the sports-journalism industry. In addition to sports, Sara is also an animal lover and we discuss whether or not she’ll fulfill a lifelong dream of owning  a pony.

You can follow Sara on Twitter @Sara_Walsh and catch her every week on SportsCenter.
