There was a time when things looked bright for the Memphis Tigers in the 2016 college football season. Even after losing Paxton Lynch and Justin Fuente, they won three-straight out of the gate. However, they’ve struggled since, but still have become bowl-eligible. Now they’ll hope to keep the Cincinnati Bearcats from doing the same on Friday night as they meet at Nippert Stadium.
Memphis quarterback Riley Ferguson has done an admirable job stepping in to replace Lynch after the latter’s departure for the NFL. He should surpass 3,000 passing yards for the season on Friday night and has been productive all year. However, they’d like to see running back Doroland Dorceus really get into rhythm heading into bowl season.
On the other hand, Cincinnati has taken a spin on the quarterback carousel this season, to say the least. They’ve seen Hayden Moore, Gunner Kiel, and Ross Trail all take a turn in the position. It should be Moore on Friday night if he’s healthy, but you never know with the way this team has gone in 2016.

Though inconsistent, these two offenses on Friday night are capable of putting up big numbers. Considering that their defenses aren’t the most capable of stopping that, this should be exciting. Expect to see an AAC shootout and not want to see it ever end.
