The Alabama Crimson Tide will play the Florida Gators in the 2016 SEC Championship Game in the Georgia Dome. What is the date and time for this game?

With the Florida Gators hanging on to win by six in their Week 12 road date against the LSU Tigers, Florida has won the SEC East division title for the second consecutive season. Last week, the Alabama Crimson Tide clinched the SEC West division title for the third straight season after the arch rival Auburn Tigers lost on the road to the Georgia Bulldogs in Athens.

So it will be the Crimson Tide versus the Gators in the 2016 SEC Championship Game. What day and time will this game be held?

Kickoff from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta will be at 4:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, Dec. 3. CBS will have the telecast of the 2016 SEC Championship, a rematch of the 2015 SEC Championship.

Alabama has made the first two College Football Playoffs by winning the SEC in back-to-back seasons. Florida gets to Atlanta for the second straight season under head coach Jim McElwain. McElwain became the first SEC head coach to win his division in his first two seasons as a school’s head coach.

The Tide will be an overwhelming favorite in the 2016 SEC Championship Game over Florida. The Crimson Tide, as of Week 11, are the only undefeated team left in the Power 5. The only other undefeated Division I team in the country is P.J. Fleck’s Western Michigan Broncos of the MAC.

Florida’s best and only chance to beat Alabama is to muddy it up and make it a low-scoring game. That will be immensely difficult in the neutral that is the Georgia Dome. Home of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons, the Georgia Dome is notorious for being a stadium that produces high-octane shootouts. This one could be lopsided in favor of the Crimson Tide.
