Connor Wickham draws Crystal Palace level (Video)
Connor Wickham scored for Crystal Palace against Manchester City to level the match at 1-1.
Crystal Palace couldn’t have been too optimistic heading into their home match against Manchester City on a four match losing streak. Things got even worse when Yaya Toure gave the Citizens a 1-0 lead in the first half.
But Palace responded well after the break, creating several good chances of their own. The best chance of the half, however, fell to Sergio Aguero, but his shot was cleared off the line. Palace leveled the match immediately after after as Connor Wickham drilled a low shot past Claudio Bravo at his near post.
City have had some good chances in this match, but if they can’t find a winner in the remaining 20 minutes, they’ll be left to rue two dropped points for the second league game running. They conceded an injury-time equalizer to Middlesbrough in their last match top fall behind Liverpool and Chelsea at the top of the table.
There are a lot of easier games in the league than an away against Palace, but even so, this is the sort of test City will need to start passing with more regularity if they’re going to win the title in Pep Guardiola’s first season.
They started the league in dominant form, but have dropped off somewhat after losing to Tottenham a month ago. There’s still time to win this one, but whatever happens, the Citizens no longer look quite the unstoppable force they did over the first couple months of the season.

Palace, meanwhile, would presumably be delighted with a draw. They would put an end to their losing streak and hopefully start moving up the table ahead of a busy holiday schedule. The Eagles are down in 16th place, but a draw could see them move within a point of the top half.
