Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy got caught in the midst of a fiery sideline celebration that ended in an accidental strike to the head.

No. 11 Oklahoma State is enjoying a pleasant Saturday since they hold a comfortable 31-6 lead over TCU in the fourth quarter. However, Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy’s day is not going perfectly. Although he did not seem to be too fazed by it, Gundy was accidentally punched by a Cowboys lineman. The Cowboys were celebrating on the sideline, and one player lost control before accidentally punching his coach.

Oklahoma State has plenty to be cheerful about, though, as they are on the verge of improving their record to 9-2. This puts them in a position to contend for the Big 12 title. This would automatically put them into consideration for making the College Football Playoff, especially if the upsets keep coming. Michigan, Washington and Clemson all lost last week while being ranked in the top five. No. 5 Louisville also suffered a shocking upset loss, putting the Cowboys in prime position to reach the top 10.

The Cowboys’ win is setting up an epic Big 12 matchup between them and the Oklahoma Sooners. The ninth-ranked Sooners will have to survive a tough road matchup first, though. They are set to face No. 14 West Virginia in a primetime matchup. If the Sooners escape with a road win, the Big 12 title will be decided in their regular-season finale against the Cowboys.

It remains to be seen whether the Cowboys can defeat a red-hot Sooners team. They will have to face the Sooners on the road. Oklahoma has won out since a slow start that consisted of losses to Houston and No. 2 Ohio State.
