At WWE Survivor Series, The Shield finally had their reunion spot that got teased over the past few months.

When The Shield broke up in June 2014, fans were shocked. Seth Rollins ended one of the most dominant trios in WWE history and sent them on their separate ways. This has to a two-plus year singles run for Rollins, Dean Ambrose, and Roman Reigns. However, during this time, fans dreamt of when these three would reunite, if ever. It seemed like a longshot, but over the past few months, WWE started teasing this.

When Rollins turned face in September, it made all three former members of The Shield good guys for the first time since the faction had been united. Even though two were on Raw and the third was on SmackDown, it set up an opportunity for them to have a spot together. WWE somewhat set this up with Reigns and Rollins working together on Raw to fend off the likes of Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho.

Well, at Survivor Series, the trio finally realigned, at least for one moment. After Ambrose got eliminated, he ran back out to help Rollins and Reigns team up on AJ Styles at ringside. The Lunatic Fringe and Styles fought earlier in the match, continuing their feud that’s culminating at TLC. So, Ambrose, Rollins, and Reigns decided to triple powerbomb the WWE world champion through a table.

This got the crowd going for the reunion spot that everyone craved for over two years. Ambrose, Rollins, and Reigns probably won’t be teaming again anytime soon, so it made this moment even more special. It didn’t affect the ending outcome either, as Team SmackDown won anyway with last eliminating the Big Dog.
