Basketball Experts Picks Challenge: Week 6 Picks

facebooktwitterreddit

It’s Week 6 of our NBA basketball experts picks challenge. We’ve polled people from all over the NBA landscape to compete, with the winning organization receiving a donation to the charity of their choice.

Russell Westbrook and LeBron James are posting triple-doubles like they’re going out of style, the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers are scoring like it’s a video game and James Harden leads the league in assists — you could say it’s lit.

The experts agreed much more than they ever have on this Week 6 slate. Will they go down together or rise as one? Let’s take a look at the matchups for FanSided’s Basketball Experts Picks Challenge!

Week 5 Matchups (total votes in quotes)

11/28 : Oklahoma City Thunder (6) at New York Knicks (7)

Russell Westbrook leads his lone wolf act into Madison Square Garden, where the new-look Knicks are playing .500 ball behind Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis.

11/29: Los Angeles Lakers (3) at New Orleans Pelicans (10)

After a disastrous start, the Pelicans are coming around behind Anthony Davis. He’s leading the league in scoring at 31.6 points per game, in addition to leading in blocks (2.8 per game). The Lakers are overachieving, though they’ll miss D’Angelo Russell as he’s slated to miss up to three weeks.

11/30: Miami Heat (1) at Denver Nuggets (12)

Nobody is believing in the Heat on the road, and there’s something to that. Miami scores just 95.6 points per game, making them the No. 28 offense in the NBA. The injury report lists six (!) names for the Heat as of today.

12/1: Los Angeles Clippers (1) at Cleveland Cavaliers (12)

On paper, the Clippers should be able to match up with the Cavs. Then again, they play on a court and the Clippers are fresh off getting waxed by the Indiana Pacers. Still, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and the Clips should give LeBron and company a game.

12/2: Orlando Magic (5) at Philadelphia 76ers (8)

One of the more interesting matchups of the week, as Joel Embiid and the 76ers have been much better than anticipated against the hugely disappointing Magic squad.
