The MAC Championship will be decided with a matchup between the unbeaten Western Michigan Broncos and Ohio Bobcats on Friday.

Though they may not be in the College Football Playoff conversation, no one can discredit what P.J. Fleck and the Western Michigan Broncos have done this season. After beating Toledo in the finale, they finished their regular season at a perfect 12-0. Now they have the opportunity to stay perfect throughout the postseason. That begins on Friday, Dec. 2 with the MAC Championship against the Ohio Bobcats from Ford Field.

Western Michigan’s offense has been an absolute force all season long. While quarterback Zach Terrell has been one of the most productive and efficient players in the country at his position, he’s aided by one of the biggest weapons out there. Wide receiver Corey Davis is an absolute monster. If you need anything to confirm that, look no further than the fact that he broke the FBS record for career receiving yards in the victory over Toledo. He’s going to be seen on Sundays starting next season and any NFL team who lands him will get a stud.

For as good as the Broncos have been leading up to the MAC title game, Ohio has been impressive as well. The Bobcats finished the regular season at 8-4 overall and with a 6-2 record in the MAC. Whether it’s been Greg Windham or Quinton Maxwell at quarterback, they’ve been playing well. Regardless of who’s under-center, they have a multi-faceted rushing attack and solid defense that will try to slow down the explosive Broncos.

Clearly Western Michigan has been the better team in 2016. However, conference championship games are always particularly unpredictable. The fact that Ohio can hand the Broncos their lone loss only adds to the drama. Subsequently, the MAC Championship should deliver the goods on Friday night.
