The Sam Houston State Bearkats face the Baylor Bears at the Ferrell Center on Wednesday. Here’s all you need to watch online.

At the start of the 2016-17 college basketball season, the Baylor Bears would’ve fallen under the category of good-but-not-great. Ranked, but at the bottom of the poll, they looked to be a high quality team with limited upside. After six games, though, the Bears have climbed into the top-10 and are looking ultra dangerous. They’ll look to keep that trend going with a matchup against the Sam Houston State Bearkats at the Ferrell Center on Wednesday.

Johnathan Motley and Manu Lecomte have been leading the way for Baylor to this points. The Bears have enjoyed contributions all over the floor, but this duo has led the way as an inside-out pairing. That’s what led to three victories over ranked opponents in their last five games.

Despite being more talented, Baylor can’t overlook Sam Houston State, though. A perennial contender in the Southland, the Bearkats have talent once again in Torry Butler and John Dewey III. They’ll need to play above their heads for the upset, but this is a team with a history of causing trouble for ranked teams.

Baylor has been one of the biggest and most pleasant early surprises this season. Subsequently, they shouldn’t have a problem with a team like Sam Houston State at home. That said, we’ve already seen some big upsets early this season, so the Bears will still want to keep on their toes on Wednesday night.
