Former Indiana Hoosiers point guard Isiah Thomas found a Crying Jordan sign and hoisted it up during Wednesday’s game against North Carolina.

It was a great day for Indiana Hoosiers basketball fans on Wednesday night, including former Hoosiers point guard Isiah Thomas. The No. 13 Hoosiers won 76-67 over the No. 3 Tar Heels in a statement victory, and Thomas was able to get the fans at Assembly Hall fired up with in classic fashion.

Thomas attended Wednesday night’s game in Bloomington to join his teammates from the 1981 national championship team, who were all honored during the game. The former IU point guard got the student section fired up during the game when he was seen hoisting up a giant Crying Jordan sign with a big smile on his face.

During his time in the NBA, Thomas was known best for being one of Michael Jordan’s biggest rivals, so it definitely felt like some subtle trolling from him celebrating his alma matter’s win over MJ’s school. You can see a picture of Thomas holding up the sign below.

Thomas explained the decision to hoist the sign up during the game.

“There were two girls sitting behind me, two IU students, and one of them handed it to me,” Thomas said according to ESPN.com. “I knew the crowd would go crazy — and they did when I held it up.”

There were plenty of recognizable Hoosiers in the crowd during Wednesday night’s game, including Chicago Cubs slugger Kyle Schwarber. All of that star power and an electric atmosphere at Assembly Hall probably played a big part in helping the Hoosiers pull off the upset win.
