Gonzaga is coming off a big win over No. 19 Iowa State and that could go a long way for an unproven team in the confidence category. The Bulldogs look like one of the best teams in the country this season and will need to take care of business until conference play starts.

The Bulldogs are the eighth-ranked team in the country in the latest polls and they already have quality wins over Florida, Iowa State and San Diego State. While Mississippi Valley State wouldn’t fit into the ‘quality’ column, it’s always nice to add wins to the record.

Five players average in double figures for Gonzaga as it is one of the most well-rounded teams in the country. Moreover, the Bulldogs average 43 rebounds per game, shoot 39 percent from three-point land and average 86 points per contest.

It has been the opposite of a positive start for the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils as they don’t have a single win through eight games. That might not change on Thursday night, as it shouldn’t, but conference play might be kinder to them.

The Delta Devils have been struggling mightily this season and a major reason for that is the absence of top scorer Marcus Romain. He has played just three games this season and he’s the only guy on the team who is averaging in double figures.

Mississippi Valley State might not score 50 points in they can’t get production from elsewhere on the roster.
