If you had any doubts about Overwatch, you now know that Steve Aoki plays it. Your doubts should be erasing.

Steve Aoki, world-renowned electro house musician, paired up with Gerard Way recently to play some Overwatch on Twitch. The two were playing for a chance to to donate $10K to a charity of their choice.

Aoki and Way’s game sesh times well with the fact that Aoki just released a remix of My Chemical Romance’s “Welcome to the Black Parade” to celebrate the song’s 10th anniversary. Way, of course, was the frontman of My Chemical Romance, and has since turned comic book writer, currently behind a series for Marvel.

Prior to gameplay actually starting, quips were made about which character each musician should play as. Reaper was immediately tossed out for Way, because MCR obviously. Lucio was mentioned for Aoki. Three guesses why.

In conversation, Way revealed that his favorite character is actually D.Va, but he also enjoys Bastion. Aoki stated that he favors Soldier 76 because he usually plays Call of Duty.

And then the gaming began. While Aoki and Way were playing on the same team, the winner between the two would be determined by the number and quality (gold, silver, bronze) of medals they received.

We found out that Way was not joking about D.Va. This little move caused Twitch to go a little crazy for Way’s “pro D.Va play.”

After being more or less ineffective with Soldier, Aoki switched to Pharah and found out she’s the one.

After a couple of Quick Play matches, Aoki and Way went one on one to finally decide who would be the decisive victor in this Overwatch session.

At first, there were mishaps.

It’s okay, Steve. It happens to everyone at least once.

But after that, it was a Pharah off! Missiles on missiles on missiles.

In the end, Aoki came away with the overall victory and the donation for his charity, Best Buddies.

We wish both of them the best of luck in their future Overwatch endeavors. After all, the world could always use more heroes.
