What bowls can be seen in the 2016 College Football Playoff?

At the end of December, the College Football Playoff will kick off with four teams set to go after the National Championship. This is the third year college football is using the CFB system, which so far has not produced a No. 1 seed as the winner. No. 4 Ohio State won in 2015 and No. 2 Alabama became the champions earlier this year.

In the games that these champions used to get to the title game, though, they were the standard top bowl matchups that have been played for decades. This includes the Peach, Fiesta, Rose, and other bowl games.

As for the 2016 College Football Playoff, we have yet to find out which four teams will be officially in the hunt for the National Championship. However, the bowl games being used are already known.

As part of a three-year rotation, the Fiesta and Peach Bowls will get the nod as the semifinal games for the College Football Playoff. This comes after the Rose and Sugar got this opportunity in 2014 while 2015 saw the Orange and Cotton get used.

The Fiesta Bowl will take place at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ. This has been the host site for the game in years past, which has included some thrillers like Boise State vs. Oklahoma from 2007. The Peach Bowl will take place at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, GA. Last year’s game saw Houston take down Florida State, 38-24.

The winners of the Fiesta and Peach Bowls will head to Tampa, FL to play at Raymond James Stadium. Whoever walks out victorious from that will be the new champions.
