Did Draymond Green drop a mixtape?
Did Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green drop a mixtape on Wednesday night?
Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is the master of many things, including defense, technical fouls and doing what he needs to do to spark his team on the floor every night. He also might be the master of releasing mythical mixtapes.
On Wednesday night, there was a bit of a buzz when DJ Shabazz pointed out that he and Draymond Green dropped a mixtape together on SoundCloud. It gained a little more buzz when Marc J. Spears dropped a tweet highlighting the cover of Super Villains by Green and Shabazz.
People probably flocked quickly to the site to hear what they would hope is Green rapping about other players and unloading a nasty diss track. Unfortunately, unless something is missing, there doesn’t appear to be any track at all, and it’s just a playlist of several famous songs.
It makes sense as if Green dropped a track it would probably blow up instantly and people would be all over it. It appears Shabazz tried to go for the quick hit of attaching some name recognition to the playlist he dropped on the popular audio sharing site.
At the same time the thought of Green rapping is a fun one. You just know he wouldn’t hold back in his assessment of others and definitely would have a beat worthy of the fire that he brings on the court every single night.
However, it doesn’t look like tonight is that night and we will have to wait to hear such a track. In the meantime, we can look to Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard to fill our music needs from current NBA superstars.
