Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed let frustrations boil over as he threw a punch at Carolina Panthers safety Kurt Coleman.

With the race for the final playoff spots in the NFC bunched up among multiple teams, the Washington Redskins needed to bring their best performance against the Carolina Panthers on Monday Night Football. Unfortunately, they came out of the gate slow and Carolina took the fight to Washington for most of three quarters and it was clear Washington was getting frustrated. For Jordan Reed, he let his frustrations get the better of him.

As the Redskins were driving on Carolina trying to get back in the game, Reed got tangled up with Panthers safety Kurt Coleman. It looks like he might have caught the injured shoulder that he has been trying to overcome. Reed couldn’t get loose quick enough and he decided that he was going to punch Coleman in the helmet.

Thomas Davis Sr. immediately ran over to break up the fight, as it was clear that Reed was ready to continue the fight. Nonetheless, Reed was ejected immediately and Washington would have to go the rest of the way without one of their weapons.

Knowing that they needed a win, things were already tough on the night for Washington as Carolina dictated the pace. Reed is a fiery guy and he’s worked hard to come back from an injury that has given him trouble for a while now.

Getting tangled up can always lead to guys getting angry on the football field but Reed went over the line with the punch. His team needed him on the field and he hurt them by taking himself off of it with the punch.
